Introducing Pine Haus

We are excited to announce our latest project, Pine Haus, a custom new-construction residence that embodies the spirit of modern mountain architecture. Tucked away on a secluded, wooded site, this home is designed to offer a unique blend of privacy and convenience in the heart of Jackson Hole.

Location & Design Philosophy

The site for Pine Haus is truly special. It is a wooded lot that backs directly onto the forest, providing a sense of being deep in nature while being just minutes from Town Square. This “in-town-forest” feel was a key driver in the design process, allowing us to create a home that feels both connected to the wild and accessible to town amenities.

Our goal was to design a home that feels both timeless and contemporary. We’ve blended clean, modern lines with warm, tactile finishes to create a space that is both visually striking and comfortable. The home is clad in materials that echo the surrounding forest: shou sugi ban cedar, bleached cedar, and blackened steel. Large expanses of glass are a central feature, framing mountain views and inviting natural light to flood the interiors.

Overcoming Challenges

The journey to bring Pine Haus to life has been a slow and challenging one. The site itself is incredibly steep, which has required a thoughtful and precise approach to the home's foundation and overall structure. Navigating these site constraints, along with a detailed and iterative design process with our clients, has been a testament to our commitment to creating a home that not only meets their vision but also respects the unique characteristics of the land.

The process, while demanding, has been a collaboration fueled by a shared passion for creating something truly special. We are proud of the result: a home that is designed to welcome gatherings while preserving a sense of quiet retreat. Every element was crafted to honor the landscape and foster a grounded, intentional living experience.

Pine Haus is more than just a house; it’s a retreat for those who value authenticity, solitude, and understated elegance in the American West. The simple rooflines and restrained material palette work in harmony to create a home that has a feeling of belonging. We believe this home will stand as a quiet, thoughtfully designed space with a deep connection to nature.
